Claudio Farinone in concert

Sunday March 22 at 5 p.m., concert by Claudio Farinone in tribute to Ralph Towner.

Two months after the death of the great American musician, Claudio Farinone will perform a selection of compositions on guitar and baritone guitar that recount his artistic career.

Claudio Farinone, classical guitarist and composer, after graduating from the Conservatory, numerous masterclasses, seminars in interpretation and composition, and awards at international competitions, began a concert career as a soloist and in various ensembles, playing with some of the leading Italian and Swiss exponents of jazz and world music. His language is halfway between interpretations, improvisational paths, and original compositions.
In 2013, he released the CD Claudio Farinone plays Ralph Towner, dedicated to the famous American guitarist and composer with whom he performed a duet in 2017 at the Museo Vela in Ligornetto.

Ralph Towner (Chehalis (WA-USA) 1.03.1940 – Rome, January 18, 2026), American guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, one of the most important of our era. He is best known for his work in contemporary jazz and acoustic music, where he has combined elements of jazz, classical music, and world music. He was one of the founders of the legendary world-jazz group “Oregon.”
